The role requires setting up and operating large manual machines, precise measuring with micrometers and calipers, and performing welds as needed. A safety-first approach and accurate work-order documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Trained in the operational process of manual lathe.
• Good understanding of repair of large components.
• Proficient with measuring tools (micrometer, calipers) and documenting measurements.

Responsibilities

• Polishing and grinding, boring and milling.
• Set up and operate large vertical turret lathes.
• Set up and operate large radial drill.
• Set up and operate manual milling machines.
• Set up and operate portable line boring bar equipment.
• Set up and operate surface grinders and polisher.
• Perform safety inspections of shop equipment prior to operations.
• Keep track of jobs and fill out work scope reports.
• Weld components as needed (Tig, Mig, Stick, Sub-arc).
