Job summary

Metso in Mesa, Arizona, is seeking a Welder to join the Repairs Welding team. You will support the repair and manufacturing of mining and process equipment, including mills, crushers, screens, shredders, conveyors, and pumps. You will perform welding and fabrication activities to ensure equipment is repaired and manufactured safely and to required specifications.

You will report to the Repair Production Manager. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mesa, Arizona.

Qualifications

• 3+ years welding experience and the ability to pass a welding test to required specifications.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings, welding details, requisitions, and engineering specifications.
• Working knowledge of welding and fabrication machinery and tools, including operation, repair, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies; weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Set up and operate welding equipment and processes (stick, MIG, submerged arc, semi-automatic).
• Cut and excavate cracks using air carbon arc equipment and other cutting tools.
• Adjust workpieces on positioners and set welding parameters for varying materials.
• Heat, form, finish, and dress metal parts with hand tools and torches.
• Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts up to 65 tons.
