Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Shop Foreman to lead all maintenance activities during the shift, including preventive maintenance and repairs for the fleet. The role involves supervising maintenance and utility staff, ensuring contract requirements are met, and coordinating with the Fleet Manager on daily operations.

Experience with air conditioning, transmissions, electrical diagnostics, emission controls, and wheelchair lifts is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must be able to prioritize, implement and manage work schedules and assignments.
• Must track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
• Must manage financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Must communicate effectively with all staff levels in writing and speaking.
• Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
• Must have technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Diesel experience preferred; ASE certified truck or school bus preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance aspects of the operation during shift, including preventive maintenance and vehicle repairs.
• Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements and responsibilities.
• Lead and develop maintenance staff; coordinate with Fleet Manager on day-to-day operations.
• Monitor and report on maintenance program budget and performance; prepare regular reports.
