Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Shop Foreman in Anchorage, AK to oversee all maintenance activities for the shift. The role includes preventive maintenance, repairs, and supervision of maintenance and utility staff to meet contractual requirements.

You will manage budgeting, training, and daily reporting while coordinating with the Fleet Manager to run the day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate has strong diesel repair skills, experience with air conditioning, emissions systems, and

Qualifications

• Experience prioritizing and managing work schedules and assignments.
• Ability to track parts inventories, vendors, and suppliers.
• Experience managing financial aspects of a fleet maintenance operation.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all staff levels.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
• Diesel experience preferred; ASE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all maintenance aspects of the operation during shift.
• Oversee preventive maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Manage maintenance and utility staff.
• Ensure contractual requirements are achieved.
• Lead daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting responsibilities.
• Manage the maintenance program budget.
• Train and develop maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with Fleet Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Experience with air conditioning systems, transmissions, electrical diagnosis, emission control systems, and wheelchair lifts.
