Job summary

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Software Engineer to support their manufacturing shop floor. The Software Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day development, support, and troubleshooting of custom and off-the-shelf manufacturing applications. This will include but not limited to:

Design and create HMI/SCADA interfaces for shop floor machine tools, design reporting solutions, analyze performance, and convert legacy software to current technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a STEM field with 3+ years (Master's) or 5+ years (Bachelor's) in software engineering in manufacturing or similar.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with programming languages such as .NET, Java, or Python.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle/SQL Server) or other DBs.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and create HMI/SCADA interfaces for shop floor machine tools.
• Develop custom business apps to collect, analyze, and report data for plant operations.
• Analyze performance and debug/repair applications as needed.
• Modify apps to add functionality for compliance or business needs.
• Design reporting solutions and mock up outputs for review.
• Migrate legacy software to current technologies.
