Job summary

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, and modify general computer applications and specialized utilities. The role requires analyzing user needs, coordinating installations, and ensuring systems meet specifications in a manufacturing environment.

Candidates should have 3+ years of experience and strong skills in Visual Basic, C++, MS Office, CAD/CAM, and ERP/PLM integrations. ITAR compliance and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years related experience.
• Demonstrated programming skills.
• Experience with Visual Basic, C++, MS Suite, CAD/CAM.
• Experience with ERP systems, IFS preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and creative ability.
• Familiarity with PLM Systems, Siemens Teamcenter preferred (BMIDE configuration, customization, integration).
• Understanding of PLM data models, workflows, and lifecycle management.
• Experience with integrating PLM with ERP, MES, and CAD systems.
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, C#, or Python.
• RESTful APIs, SOAP services, and microservices architecture.
• SQL/NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software systems, following specifications using appropriate tools
• Maintain and/or modify existing software
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
• Perform custom programming to support business needs
• Consult with other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance
• Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation
• Other duties as assigned
