Job summary

Strategic Systems Inc is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and implement manufacturing software systems. You will collaborate with the MES architect to ensure seamless integration with MES hardware and software, supporting enterprise design goals, R&D, and quality data architectures.

The role emphasizes SDLC adherence, Agile teamwork, and ability to troubleshoot large, complex systems while interfacing with PLCs and shop floor automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT or related field.
• 3+ years in software development teams using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• 2+ years interfacing with manufacturing control systems and PLCs.
• Proven expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL development.
• Experience with SDLC, Agile, change management, and version control.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration within multinational teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new software systems for manufacturing in an agile environment.
• Contribute to solution design, analysis, and tradeoffs of technology options.
• Enforce software development best practices and quality standards.
• Integrate shop floor systems with custom and off‑the‑shelf solutions.
• Provide Manufacturing Systems support and meet KPIs; participate in after-hours on-call.
• Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
• Document recurring issues and create technical documentation for operations.
• Adhere to SDLC, safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
