Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineer to support manufacturing shop floor applications, including HMI/SCADA interfaces and data reporting. You will develop, troubleshoot, and optimize custom and off-the-shelf manufacturing software to improve plant operations.

Responsibilities include designing interfaces, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with business requirements. Prior experience with automation, PLC/HMI, and Ignition is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of software engineering experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
• Proficiency with a programming language such as .Net, Java, or Python.
• Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server or other relational databases.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Self-starter, works well with minimal supervision.
• Preferences: automation/robotic applications; PLC/HMI programming with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk; Ignition platform.

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, and troubleshoot day-to-day manufacturing applications, including HMI screens, reporting, and data consolidation.
• Design and create HMI/SCADA interfaces for shop floor machine tools.
• Create custom business applications to collect, analyze and report plant data.
• Analyze application performance and debug or repair as needed.
• Modify applications to meet compliance or business needs.
• Design reporting outputs and mock-ups for review and approval.
• Migrate legacy software to current technologies.
