Job summary

Moss, a national construction firm, seeks a Shop Equipment Mechanic in Ocala, FL to keep equipment and vehicles in reliable, job-ready condition. You will diagnose issues, perform preventative maintenance, and coordinate with the Equipment Manager and vendors to minimize downtime.

The role requires CDL (preferred), strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and braking systems, and the ability to work independently in shop and field environments. Some travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 5 years of heavy equipment experience.
• Minimum 5 years construction industry experience.
• Maintain DOT physical for driving a commercial service truck.
• CDL preferred.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Diesel engine knowledge.
• Hydraulic and brake system expertise.
• Certifications in Safety, Brakes, Engine, Transmissions, Troubleshooting, Suspension.
• Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to travel to job sites and overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular routine preventative maintenance on construction equipment.
• Respond to service call requests and perform repairs or maintenance.
• Troubleshoot service issues with Equipment Manager and vendors.
• Complete work orders and confirm equipment is safe and operable.
• Must have welding and burning ability.
• Complete electronic work orders daily.
• Work safely per Moss guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
