Job summary

John W. Danforth Company is seeking a Shop Driver to support construction and service operations by safely transporting tools, equipment, and materials to job sites and company locations.

This role offers exposure to multiple trades and opportunities to learn within a collaborative team. You will operate a variety of company vehicles, load and unload items, and maintain delivery records while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Previous delivery, warehouse, or construction industry experience is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to safely operate company vehicles and comply with all driving regulations.
• Physical ability to load, unload, and move materials and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles, including pickups, box trucks, stake trucks, and other fleet vehicles.
• Deliver tools, equipment, materials, and supplies to job sites and company facilities in a timely manner.
• Load and unload materials while following proper safety procedures.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns as needed.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
• Assist with warehouse, shop, and inventory-related tasks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with field and shop personnel to coordinate deliveries and support project needs.
• Maintain a professional attitude and represent the company positively when interacting with employees, customers, and vendors.

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range : $18.00 - $20.00 per hour (Estimated compensation range based on experience, qualifications, training, and work location.)
