Job summary

Academi seeks a Competitions Coordinator to assist the Marketing & Events Manager in planning, organizing, and executing competitive shooting events. The role focuses on coordinating matches, supporting operations management and ensuring range safety.

The position requires hands-on involvement in designing stages and schedules, supervising staff and participants, and maintaining safety protocols in a dynamic training environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Local candidates preferred.
• One year of prior experience in weapons training.
• One or more years as Range Safety Officer preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Problem-solving abilities with analytical thinking.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Help design stages, courses of fire and tournament schedules; conduct safety briefings.
• Supervise competitors and scorekeepers; provide guidance and support.
• Build targets, barricades and stands; coordinate range setup and teardown; verify safety.
• Assist with registration, squadding, waivers tracking, and final match scores.
• Mediating disputes or rule interpretations to protect front-line staff.
• Work in a busy training environment; frequent interruptions and varying hours; weather exposure; PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.
