Job summary

Famous Footwear in California is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager. You will lead the store in the Manager's absence, motivate a sales-driven team, and ensure a top-notch customer experience for families.

You’ll coach staff, uphold store standards, and stay current on fashion trends to drive sales and brand loyalty. This full-time role emphasizes people leadership, coaching, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Has a High School Diploma/GED.
• Has at least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Demonstrates experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Exhibits an ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Displays ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspire the Customer Connection: foster a culture of caring and camaraderie focused on customer relationships and execution.
• Champion Talent Discovery: network with external talent and assist in hiring top candidates for the store.
• Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: manage pricing, shipping, inventory and staffing under Store Manager guidance.
• Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: drive sales and apply insights to improve store performance.
• Be a Culture Builder: promote diversity, inclusion and a positive team environment.
• Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: step in during absence and develop internal talent with the Store Manager.
