Famous Footwear in United States is seeking an Assistant Store Manager who leads in the absence of the Store Manager, drives the best shoe store experience for the family, and inspires a service-driven culture. You will coach, hire, and motivate a team to meet sales targets, stay current on trends, and uphold store standards across our brands and company.

Qualifications

• Has a High School Diploma/GED.
• Has at least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Demonstrates experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Leads, manages, motivates and communicates with store associates at all levels.
• Trains, coaches and develops associates for selling and operations.
• Exhibits independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager as needed.
• Strong cognitive skills with problem solving, decision making and basic analytics.
• Advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire the Customer Connection: foster a culture focused on customer relationships and operational excellence.
• Champion Talent Discovery: recruit and interview external talent to grow store sales.
• Ace Retail Operations & Support Staffing Levels: manage pricing, shipping, inventory and staffing needs.
• Leverage Insights to Deliver Results: drive sales and use observations to improve performance.
• Be a Culture Builder: promote diversity and an inclusive, proactive team environment.
• Be our Store Manager’s Right Hand: step in when needed and develop internal talent with the Store Manager.
