Job summary

Caleres is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for our Pennsylvania locations who loves shoes and delivering the best store experience for families.

As the Store Manager’s right hand, you will lead a team, coach for selling behaviors, manage daily operations, and ensure flawless customer service while driving sales growth and brand presentation.

You’ll foster an inclusive culture, develop talent, and stay current with product trends to inspire both customers and associates alike.

Qualifications

• Has a High School Diploma/GED.
• At least 1 year of sales experience (retail sales preferred).
• Demonstrates experience in interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Exhibits an ability to lead, manage, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Displays ability to train, coach and develop Associates to provide an engaging customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment and discretion partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.
• Demonstrates strong cognitive skills, including problem solving analysis, decision making, and financial and quantitative analysis.
• Has advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Can work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Has basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspire associates to foster customer relationships and operational excellence.
• Recruit and interview external talent with Store Manager.
• Oversee pricing, shipping, and inventory to ensure smooth operations.
• Drive sales through insights and location performance.
• Build a culture that values diversity and inclusion.
• Cover Store Manager duties in their absence and develop internal talent.
