Job summary

IMIA, LLC is seeking a Structural Foreman to supervise welding operations at shipyards and customer facilities. You will lead a crew, read blueprints, manage materials, and ensure quality under safety standards.

Responsibilities include training, equipment setup, cost control, and timesheet reviews while maintaining budgets and schedules. OSHA maritime standards and 1+ year supervisory experience are preferred for this non-exempt, full-time position.

Qualifications

• SMAW and GMAW welding knowledge and training.
• Ability to read and interpret operating/procedure manuals.
• Understanding of materials, processes, quality control and costs.
• Knowledge of welding machines, tools, repair and maintenance.
• Knowledge of planning work, resource allocation, leadership and coordination.
• Familiarity with the metric system.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with team members for productivity.
• Understanding of safety protocols and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures.
• Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine supplies and sequence of operations.
• Requisitions supplies such as weld rods, weld wire, gases, and fixtures.
• Inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality.
• Trains workers in operation of equipment.
• Set up machines and make trial welds.
• Supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames.
• Ensure equipment is properly handled, protected and maintained.
• Prepare records and reports about subordinates and tasks on the project.
• Work within prescribed budgets and maintain job cost control.
• Review and submit timesheets for assigned crew.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
