Job summary

TREO Staffing, LLC is seeking a structural fabricator-welder for a shipyard environment in Texas. You will weld structural steel components for repairs and new construction, reading and interpreting blueprints and welding symbols to plan work.

Responsibilities include preparing weld areas, performing welds to procedures, inspecting for defects, and collaborating with fitters and supervisors while strictly following safety rules and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications

• Prior structural welding experience in shipyards or marine repair.
• Ability to read welding symbols and follow written instructions.
• Safe operation of welding machines and grinders.
• Ability to obtain/maintain welding qualifications and pass tests.
• Reliable attendance and teamwork with drive for quality.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural steel plates, stiffeners, bulkheads, and vessel components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to plan work.
• Prepare weld areas by grinding and cleaning damaged sections.
• Perform welds to approved procedures and project standards.
• Inspect welds for defects and correct as directed.
• Collaborate with fitters, supervisors and cross-trade partners to meet schedule.
• Follow shipyard safety rules and PPE guidelines.
