Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. is offering an Operations Supervisor Leadership Program to develop leaders for shipyard operations in Groton, CT and Quonset Point, RI. Participants will receive hands-on training, rotate through a trade, and lead teams aboard submarines under construction and repair.

The program starts in July 2027 and blends offsite trade training with on-site leadership roles, mentorship, and exposure to cross-functional engineering and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or International Maritime Business by June 2027.
• Experience in leadership across employment, internships or student organizations.
• Less than 5 years of professional engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel between sites and work all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities of 3 to 20 trade employees in preparing, assembling and installing equipment onboard submarines.
• Interface with Engineering, Ships' Management, Quality and other trade departments.
• Promote safety, quality and process improvement.
• Assist in planning, execution, and evaluation of engineering projects per quality standards and timelines.
• Develop innovative solutions using technical knowledge and problem-solving.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
• Lead self-assessment audits and maintain schedules.
• Travel between sites and work across shifts.
• Complete Capstone project at program end.
