Job summary

Philly Shipyard, Inc. is seeking a Safety & Health Coordinator to uphold and advance on-site safety programs at our Philadelphia facility.

The role requires conducting inspections, enforcing OSHA standards, coordinating training, and supporting hazard communication and emergency response efforts. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of safety experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently within a team-based environment.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-year college degree in Safety or Environmental field strongly desired

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed
• Performs inspections of work sites to monitor safety compliance
• Organizes safety meetings and develops weekly safety topics
• Conducts investigations of incidents and prepares reports
• Assists in PPE management, medical surveillance and workers’ comp programs
• Performs duties of Shipyard Competent Person as needed (testing atmospheres, hot work permits)
• Serves on Shipyard Emergency Response Team and responds to emergencies
