Job summary

Wayne-Sanderson Farms seeks an experienced shipping leader to manage the department, set procedures, and drive on-time delivery while maintaining product quality and safety standards. You will supervise loading/unloading, coordinate with production, and ensure adherence to SOPs and regulations.

The role emphasizes staff development, performance coaching, and fostering a zero-accident culture within a fast-paced, perishable foods environment.

Qualifications

Minimum four (4) years relevant experience in a supply chain or shipping environment.
Experience in perishable foods preferred.
Demonstrated leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, Top 25 behaviors, conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

Manage department by establishing procedures and adjusting as necessary to meet shipping schedules, increase efficiencies and meet or exceed budget objectives.
Oversee day-to-day activities to ensure efficient transportation and storage of materials used and produced by production lines and safe loading/unloading of product to reduce contamination and damage.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and reduce repeat deficiencies (hold product, accidents, downtime).
Mentor, coach and train employees; provide consistent feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.
administer performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions fairly.
