Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Our client, a manufacturing company in Huntley, IL, is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead and coordinate the activities of the shipping team. This role is responsible for overseeing all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, maintaining shipping records, and supporting cross-functional logistics processes.

Job Purpose:

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments and preparing items for shipment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, and orders to determine shipping priorities and methods.

- Oversee all shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper handling of goods.

- Ensure shipping equipment is maintained and coordinate repairs when needed.

- Conduct final quality checks before shipment to confirm material integrity and documentation accuracy.

- Track packaging and shipping material inventory levels.

- Coordinate workflows to maximize efficiency and minimize labor costs.

- Manage stock levels and monitor delivery timelines and freight costs.

- Collaborate with internal departments and external suppliers to meet shipping deadlines.

- Train and coach team members; develop work instructions and support policy compliance.

- Participate in performance reviews and corrective actions in coordination with HR.

- Ensure a safe work environment and recommend improvements to enhance safety and productivity.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.

- 1–2 years of supervisory experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations.

- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to multitask.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and the ability to write work instructions.

- Solid math and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, stand, walk, crouch, twist, and operate within a fast-paced environment.
