Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is hiring for a Shipping/Logistics role in Pullman, WA. You will process shipments with multiple carriers, meet quality goals, and ensure export compliance, while coordinating pickups and preparing containers. You will communicate with customers and support teams to resolve issues and uphold SEL values.

Qualifications

  • Ability to frequently lift 40 pounds and work with packing materials.
  • Knowledge of shipping requirements and international export rules.
  • Strong math, documentation, writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to follow established work schedules and procedures.
  • Ability to learn new skills and work cooperatively in a team.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL and negative drug tests.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Process shipments through multiple carriers using SEL and external business systems.
  2. Meet quality and production goals in assigned areas of responsibility.
  3. Ensure compliance with customer requested delivery methods and international export regulations.
  4. Regularly communicate with Customers and Support staff to troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues.
  5. Prepare shipping containers and pallets in accordance with SEL standards; schedule and coordinate pick up with carriers.
  6. Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  7. Understand, Create, Simplify.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
