Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. in the United States seeks a Production Supervisor to lead a manufacturing team, ensuring safe, efficient product flow and alignment with SEL values and world-class manufacturing principles.

You will mentor staff, write and deliver performance reviews, oversee training, address issues, and drive continuous improvement using root-cause tools while coordinating with upstream and downstream areas to meet department objectives and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Model SEL Values and Leadership characteristics to employees.
• Provide clear direction to work group in order to help meet department production objectives.
• Understand upstream and downstream work areas in order to ensure accurate communication and appropriate product flow.
• Monitor employee performance, regularly provide employee feedback; empower, mentor and coach employees, write and deliver performance reviews, and assist employees in setting goals.
• Responsible for assessing employee training needs, and providing/overseeing training.
• Under guidance, actively and effectively address personnel issues and settle differences equitably and productively.
• Create, update and ensure control of area work instructions and reports.
• Utilize basic root cause and continuous improvement tools to investigate and address area quality issues.
• Promote safety standards to others and assist in implementing safety initiatives.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Pay Range

Pay Range Data - $33.00 - $50.00 per hour We set starting pay based on job-related factors such as your experience, training, knowledge, and skills. We are looking to fill this position at the Associate level, and we welcome applicants with a range of experience. Depending on your background, we may consider you for a different level, with compensation aligned accordingly.
