Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. seeks a technically skilled professional to test and troubleshoot microprocessor-based products and support engineering and manufacturing teams.

You will train junior staff, develop product knowledge, and implement department objectives while upholding SEL Values and manufacturing principles. This role emphasizes collaboration and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Two-year degree or equivalent work experience in industrial electronics.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical, judgmental and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Test and troubleshoot microprocessor-based products to component level.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing.
  • Provide troubleshooting training to junior personnel.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of SEL products and processes.
  • Implement department objectives under supervision.
  • Model SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Test and troubleshoot microprocessor-based products to component level with minimal guidance.
  • Provide technical support to engineering and manufacturing.
  • Provide troubleshooting training to junior department personnel.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of SEL products and processes to ensure product quality and integrity.
  • Implement department objectives under direction of immediate supervisor.
  • Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Two-year degree in Industrial Electronic Technology or equivalent work experience
  • 2-5 years experience in electronic design, manufacturing, or testing
  • Knowledge of analog and digital electronics
  • Proficient technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, judgment, and organizational skill
  • Good technical training and presentation skills
  • Strong knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, Access
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of structured programming
  • Advanced computer program skills: Word, Excel, Access
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives
