Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc in Springdale, PA seeks a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to manage shipping paperwork and carrier communications for high-volume shipments, and to prepare bills of lading and packing slips for domestic and Canada routes. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with Manufacturing, Production Planning, Supply Chain and Commercial Teams.
• Detail oriented with a sense of urgency.
• Independent and team-oriented work style.
• Experience with Oracle, Excel, MS Office, Teams; SAP a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb regularly.

Responsibilities

• Receive and greet carriers for scheduled shipments.
• Direct carriers to loading docks and assist with safety procedures.
• Create bill of ladings for domestic and Canada shipments.
• Create packing slips for domestic and Canada shipments.
• Communicate with carriers daily for shipments.
• Create customs invoices for shipments moving to Canada.
• File necessary paperwork according to federal regulations.
• Assist production team with order complexities and correcting pick tickets.
• Become certified in hazardous shipping regulations.
• Place tracking information on all outgoing shipments.
• Close daily shipped orders in Oracle.
