• Forklift experience (training available)

• Experience with measurement devices required
• Crating or carpentry experience (training available)
• Export paperwork experience preferred
• Understanding SDS/HazCom shipping regulations

Responsibilities

• Verify outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Determine the shipping method.
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or identify shipping information on cartons.
• Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or select preassembled containers.
• Insert items into containers.
• Nail covers on wooden crates and bind containers with metal tape.
• Post weights and shipping charges and affix postage.
• Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Operate tier lift truck or hand-truck to move shipments to storage or work area.
• Study shipping notices and orders to determine priorities and methods.
• Inspect shipments for accuracy, completeness, and condition.
• Count, weigh, and measure packaging and contents for conformance to specifications.
• Compare packed items with customer orders and data.
• Perform clerical tasks such as data entry and filing.
• Deliver incoming goods to respective departments.
