Job summary

Wieland is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Manager to lead the on-site shipping and receiving operations in Parsippany, NJ. You will oversee the Shipping Supervisor and team, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency while aligning with production and customer needs.

The role requires 5+ years in shipping/logistics with leadership experience and strong DOT knowledge. ERP and MS Office proficiency are essential in a fast-paced, unionized setting to drive continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in shipping/logistics/manufacturing with 2+ years in leadership.
• Experience leading supervisors or lead-level staff is preferred.
• Proficient in DOT regulations and transportation compliance.
• Experience in a union environment is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office; data analysis skills required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountability for performance, safety, compliance, and effectiveness of shipping and receiving.
• Provide leadership to the Shipping Supervisor and ensure daily execution and service levels.
• Ensure DOT compliance, inspections, training, and corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs: on-time shipment, order accuracy, labor efficiency, data integrity.
• Maintain visibility into operations through data and regular floor presence.
• Oversee staffing and resource allocation, coordinating with Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain.
• Support production needs and cover in absence of Operations Supervisor as needed.
• Ensure accuracy and auditability of shipping systems, documentation, and records.
• Lead performance management and discipline per the collective bargaining agreement.
• Serve as escalation point for operational and employee issues.
