Job summary

ALTOR is seeking a Shipping Lead to coordinate daily shipping and receiving and lead the warehouse team. You will assign work, monitor workflow, ensure safety and inventory accuracy, and collaborate with Production, Customer Service, and carriers to meet deadlines.

A strong focus on process discipline and KPI tracking is essential for on-time shipments. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in warehouse/shipping and a valid driver’s license with forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years warehouse/shipping experience in manufacturing.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL if required by facility.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and inventory control skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shipping, receiving, staging, and warehouse operations.
• Assign and prioritize work based on production schedules and deadlines.
• Monitor dock activity and adjust resources to meet shipping commitments.
• Oversee loading/unloading, trailer inspections, and DOT load securement.
• Operate forklifts and other powered equipment safely.
• Ensure accuracy of bills of lading, packing lists, and inventory docs.
• Investigate discrepancies and shipping errors; implement corrective actions.
• Lead shift meetings and safety huddles; train associates on SOPs.
• Monitor performance and report coaching needs to Plant Manager.
• Maintain PPE compliance, forklift inspections, and 5S housekeeping.
• Coordinate daily with production, Customer Service, and carriers.
• Track KPIs for on-time shipping, inventory accuracy, and damage rates.
• Lead continuous improvement to safety, efficiency, and material flow.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
