Job summary

Alfa Laval in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking an inventory control specialist for on-site day shift (6am-2:30pm, overtime as needed). You will handle shipping/receiving, stock delivery to shop floors, and cycle counting to support production and warehouse operations.

Responsibilities include inspecting shipments, maintaining inventory records, operating forklifts, and coordinating with Purchasing to resolve issues. Prior manufacturing and forklift/crane experience are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Strong Excel proficiency.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unpacks and inspects incoming shipments and records shortages.
• Verifies information against bills of lading and invoices.
• Operates forklift or hand truck to move shipments.
• Performs daily equipment inspections for required equipment.
• Troubleshoots problems and communicates with Team Leaders or Purchasing if needed.
• Routes items to departments or warehouse locations.
• Maintains log of received materials and supplies.
• Affixes shipping labels and identifies shipping information.
• Packaging of components to quality standards for safe transport.
• Examine outgoing shipments for specifications.
• Manage inventory counts and recycling processes.
• Provide materials to workstations as needed.
