Job summary

Alfa Laval Technologies in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a warehouse associate to manage incoming/outgoing shipments, inventory, and related material movements on a day shift. You will operate forklifts, assist in cycle counts, and ensure accurate receiving and shipping processes.

The role requires basic math, Excel proficiency, and attention to detail, with overtime as needed. Prior manufacturing and crane experience are preferred. Healthcare and 401(k) benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic desk top computer skills.
• Basic math skills including the ability to read a tape measure and micrometer.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift operation certification preferred.
• Overhead crane experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments; rejects damaged items and records shortages.
• Compares identifying information and counts against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
• Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move shipments to storage or work area.
• Performs daily equipment inspections (fork trucks, cranes, etc.).
• Troubleshoots incoming problems and communicates with Team Leaders or Purchasing Department.
• Routes items to departments or warehouse locations.
• Maintains log of received materials and supplies.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information.
• Stamps, stencils, or glues shipping information onto crates or containers.
• Packaging of components to quality standards for transport.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensure they meet specifications.
• Manage inventory indoors and outdoors, minimize damage and dispose slow-moving inventory.
• Compile order-specific fan and drive kits for production readiness.
• Provide needed materials to various workstations and locations.
• Respond to department requests for material deliveries.
• Ensure proper accounting for scrap inventory and raw goods.
• Conduct inventory counts to support accurate valuation.
