Val-Matic Valve & Mfg. Corp. in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities include counting, weighing, determining shipping methods, labeling, moving items, and ensuring accuracy against bills of lading. The role requires a High School Diploma, manufacturing experience, and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow safety guidelines.
• Must understand verbal and written instructions and report issues promptly.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items against records.
• Determines method of shipment and affixes labels or stamps shipping information.
• Inserts items into containers and prepares shipments for dispatch.
• Posts weights and shipping charges and handles hazardous waste disposal per policy.
• Operates lift truck or hand truck to move shipments to storage or work area.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and ensures accuracy of outgoing shipments.
• Unpacks, inspects, and coordinates with shippers to rectify damages or shortages.
• Ensures outgoing shipments meet specifications and documents all records.
• Performs safety-related tasks and adheres to plant safety guidelines.
• Reconciles shipments with bills of lading, invoices, or orders.
