As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing the flow of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate documentation and handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Receive incoming materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other documentation.
Inspect deliveries for correct quantities and visible damage or discrepancies.
Accurately document received materials and notify appropriate personnel of shortages or other issues.
Prepare finished products, parts, and materials for outgoing shipment.
Package, label, palletize, and secure products to help prevent damage during transportation.
Prepare and organize shipping paperwork, packing slips, labels, and related documentation.
Coordinate pickups and deliveries with carriers as needed.
Load and unload trucks using appropriate material-handling equipment.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and other equipment safely.
Move materials to designated storage, production, staging, and shipping areas.
Maintain accurate inventory and material locations.
Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory as required.
Keep shipping, receiving, warehouse, and staging areas clean and organized.
Follow company safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.
Communicate effectively with production, purchasing, quality, and other departments regarding material and shipment needs.
Perform additional warehouse, material-handling, and facility duties as assigned.
Experience in inventory management, forklift operation, shipping and receiving, and logistics.
Ability to read and understand packing slips, purchase orders, shipping documents, and labels.
Basic computer and data-entry skills.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team.
Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling is preferred.
Forklift experience is preferred.
