2nd shift / 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM / Monday through Friday

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Under direction of the immediate supervisor, perform duties related to receiving and shipping materials, by hand and using a forklift, clamp truck, or other powered industrial equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Reads picking tickets and other shipping documents to determine items needed to fulfill customer requirements.
2. Pulls and prepares orders for shipment by verifying product name, warehouse lot number, manufacturers lot number, weight, and package codes on labels versus the information listed on the picking ticket and bill of lading.
3. Inspects packages for damages prior to shipment.
4. Loads trucks following the loading guidelines.
5. Assists with the process of condensing rows.
6. Assists with the material movement and completes the appropriate forms to record new locations.
7. Maintains forklift and other warehouse equipment by keeping them clean and reporting service as needed.
8. Adheres to company policies and maintains a clean and safe work environment.
9. Unloads deliveries by hand or forklift.
10. Verifies accuracy of inbounds by comparing vendor's bill of lading and other documentation with the material that is delivered.
11. Generates the receiving documentation and labels for inbound material when needed.
12. Assists with the warehouse housekeeping and recycling program.
13. Must be able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly as part of the job function.
14. All other duties assigned.

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS EXPERIENCE:

1. High school diploma or GED; three months or more related experience and/or training; or comparable combination of education and experience.
2. Must have 2 years of forklift experience.
3. Experience with inventory control procedures.
4. Ability to read and understand documents such as pick tickets, bills of lading, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
5. Ability to write routine correspondence and to perform basic arithmetic.
6. Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.
7. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
2. Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-55 lbs. Occasionally lift and/or move objects that more than 75 lbs.
3. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
4. Occasionally required to sit and climb.
5. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus.
