Job summary

Speedrack Products Group in Michigan is seeking a Lead to oversee production support, ensure safety, and drive continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor. You will review schedules, verify material availability, record production data, inspect first articles, and coordinate setup and color changes.

Regular attendance and adherence to safety policies are required. This role requires reading/writing, forklift permit, and ability to work with diverse teams; training on safety and procedures

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read & write.
• Able to pass written exam and physical observation test for an Industrial Truck Permit.
• Ability to adjust to changing job functions.
• Capable of working well with co-workers of different cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Support Continuous Improvement initiatives of the facility.
• Review production schedule and orders.
• Check on availability of material.
• Enter daily production into computer.
• Accurately complete 1st piece inspections.
• Review set up on machines, presses, jigs, etc.
• Complete and enter daily paperwork as required per department.
• Direct workforce on proper procedures and policies.
• Visually inspect parts.
• Schedule runs, color changes, product, etc. per department requirements.
• Communicate personnel and production issues to Supervisor.
• Assist with training of employees on safety and procedures as required per department.
• Proactively address safety, quality, production, and continuous improvements.
• Assist other departments when needed.
• Maintain general housekeeping and an orderly work area.
• Adhere to safety and environmental policies.
