Job summary

ERL Inc. is seeking a Shipping Assistant & Material Handler to support the Shipping & Receiving Department and Machine Shop.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent organization, and a team-first attitude to adapt to changing production priorities. Responsibilities include handling shipments, assisting CNC machinists, operating forklifts (certification preferred), and ensuring accurate records of all movements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-conscious mindset.
• Experience in manufacturing, machining, warehouse, or material handling preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred (training provided).
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Basic computer skills; familiarity with shipping software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support machine shop by assisting machinists and moving materials.
• Receive, verify, and ship materials; maintain accurate shipment records.
• Operate material handling equipment safely; forklift certification preferred.
• Make pickups/deliveries with company vehicle as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment and communicate issues promptly.
