Qualifications

  • Experience in material handling or warehouse operations in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kanban, JIT).
  • Proficient with inventory management software and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.

Description

Job Title: Material Handler Department: Fabrication Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing materials, ensuring the smooth flow of production, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role is crucial in supporting our lean manufacturing processes and contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the shop.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Material Handling: Receive, ship, inspect, and store raw materials, components, and finished products. Ensure accurate inventory management and timely delivery of materials to production areas.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and report discrepancies. Utilize inventory management software to track and update stock levels.
  • Lean Manufacturing Support: Implement and adhere to lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Kanban, and Just-In-Time (JIT) inventory systems. Identify and eliminate waste in material handling processes.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of material movements, including receipts, transfers, and shipments. Prepare and update material handling reports as required.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow and support production schedules.

Requirements
