Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) is seeking a Shipping Department Associate for its Charlotte, NC facility. This non-exempt, manufacturing hourly role supports daily shipping operations and loading activities with a focus on safety and efficiency.

You will follow load schedules, assist in staging, and coordinate closely with the plant team to maintain a steady workflow. Experience with pneumatic tools and a readiness to lift heavy items is preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read and write English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work safely, take initiative, multi-task, and work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Work experience with pneumatic tools and/or in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations; must be able to lift heavy product up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour.
• Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant with Lean/Continuous Improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Shipping Department.
• Follows load schedules and ensures a smooth workflow.
• Coordinates the staging area.
• Loads trucks.
• Performs various operations in the department as required.
• Ability to sort items with good organizational skills.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and management; work in a fast-paced team environment.
