Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) is seeking a dedicated maintenance support role in Birmingham, AL. You will assist maintenance personnel, communicate production concerns, and ensure timely, safe completion of tasks while maintaining a clean work area.

The role requires teamwork, ability to work rotating shifts (weekends/holidays) and lifting up to 50 lbs, with strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist maintenance personnel when requested or needed.
• Communicate effectively about potential production issues, concerns, and operational needs.
• Ensure equipment inspection reports are completed each shift.
• Ensure tasks directed by Operations Support Management are completed safely and on time.
• Perform daily housekeeping duties and maintain a clean work area.
• Stay alert to unsafe conditions and report them immediately.
• Troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge and communication with others.
• Work safely by following safety rules, regulations, and PPE requirements.
• Participate in CMC Safety Programs and uphold safety culture.
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures.

• Responsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work area
• To give relief to any of the overhead crane operators
• Troubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others
• Understand start up, shutdown, and emergency procedures
