Job summary

Commercial Metals Company (CMC) seeks a forklift/loader associate to move, assemble, and ship customer orders. You will handle material in a fast-paced environment, inspect items for accuracy, and help with inventory and loading tasks across facilities in a safety-conscious team setting.

You must have 1+ year forklift experience, be able to lift 50 pounds, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues. This role requires standing, bending, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year forklift / loader experience.
  • Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stretch, bend and use hands and fingers in repetitive motions.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time required.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders.
  • Comply with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to be flexible, a team player and interact professionally with employees as well as external contacts.
  • Able to work overtime as business requires.

Responsibilities

  • Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets, shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
  • Assist in performing inventory on material.
  • Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers.
  • Inspect outgoing material for accuracy.
  • Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
  • Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization.

Your Education
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
