Job summary

Merchants Metals in Houston, TX is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to support yard operations, assist the supervisor and team in loading, and audit daily housekeeping and orders. You will check in/out drivers, photograph trucks, print orders, landing bills, PODs, and schedule. Forklift operation is required as needed.

Applicants should have strong English, basic MS Office skills, and the ability to coordinate across teams. A high school diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Good reception and communications with the drivers.
• Knowledge of Excel, Word and email.
• Coordinate with team to complete activities.
• Knowledge of different types of materials to detect issues.
• Assist in the loading process as needed.
• Receive the trucks and check the paperwork.
• Assist and participate in Physical Inventory.
• Sustain 6S housekeeping across the plant.
• Support other internal Material department areas as needed.
