Job description

We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator in Rowley, MA. This is a hybrid and shop role.

Pay is $32-38 an hour DEO.

Major Job Functions & Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring all deliveries are loaded properly and shipped in a timely manner to meet the project demands per daily production schedule.
• Create accurate Bill of Lading for all loads to outside vendors and jobsites for Rowley location.
• Coordinate with Purchasing to fulfill shop orders to meet required date on site.
• Coordinate sequence of shipping itinerary and special delivery criteria with assigned CIC Project Manager.
• Coordinate trucking manpower (CIC and outside Drivers) on all deliveries while adhering to DOT code requirements and restrictions.
• Knowledge of road trucking codes and restrictions of New England states and New York.
• Track location of all CIC owned and leased trailers, ensuring annual inspections are current.
• Secure trucking permits for over-sized loads as required.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe workspace.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to safely operate a forklift, pallet jack, and two-wheel hand cart.
• Able to read erection, shop detail drawings, and Bill of Material.
• Highly organized with solid critical thinking skills – able to consider situations and make swift decisions with low consequence.
• Excellent communication skills, able to work with others in a fast-paced, production-focused environment.
• Comfortable with using technology in a paperless environment, including the use of administrative and production-related software programs.
• Quality and safety minded.

Position Qualification Minimums (Education, Training, Experience)

• High School or equivalent trade school education.
• Five plus years in logistical shipping coordination.
• Prior experience in steel fabrication operation preferred.
• Able to read erection and shop detail drawings.
• Computer savvy.
