An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Shipping Coordinator to ensure smooth operations within the shipping department. · Provide direct interaction with team members involved in shipping. Assisting and guiding employees on issues related to the shipping department.
· Ensure deadlines are met, adhere to company policies and procedures, and responsible for employee training.
· Records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
· Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items.
· Puts identifying information on containers, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against travelers or other records.
· Assemble/coordinate wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
· Attach Bills of Lading to shipping containers.
· Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
· Reports any unsafe conditions to Supervisor/Management.
· Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Responsible for cleanliness of work area and the general housekeeping of the Company.
· Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma, or General Education Degree (GED).
· 2 years of experience required.
· General computer knowledge.
· High degree of diplomacy and the ability to deal with and influence persons in all types of positions required.
· Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
· Work with minimum supervision and strong problem-solving skills.
· Must understand and have good packaging knowledge of products.
