Job summary

WEG is seeking a Shipping Coordinator in Houston to oversee all shipping activities, plan and execute shipments, and ensure timely, accurate deliveries. You will process small parcel and LTL shipments, coordinate with carriers, and maintain records in SAP or similar systems.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years shipping experience in a warehouse, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a warehouse shipping environment is required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proficiency with SAP or similar warehouse systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process small part & LTL shipments accurately and timely.
  • Understand logistics processes and procedures.
  • Monitor aging and status of open freight shipments and follow up on issues as needed.
  • File and process paperwork per established procedures.
  • Schedule trucks using SAP and TMS.
  • Keep accurate records of outgoing shipments.
  • Coordinate with departments to ensure timely shipments and accurate tracking.
  • Prepare shipments with BOL and required documentation.
  • Assist shipping carriers with tracking and shipment information.

About The Role

The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipping products to customers and internal transfers. Will plan, schedule, execute shipping activities and ensure timely, accurate and compliant delivery of products.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Processes small part & LTL shipments, processing in timely and accurate manner
  • Understand the logistics process and procedure
  • Monitors age and status of open freight shipments and follow-up on issues as needed
  • Files and processes paperwork in accordance with the established procedures
  • Schedules trucks through systems such as SAP and TMS
  • Keeps accurate records on outgoing shipments
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure timely shipments of all products and accurate tracking in operation system
  • Prepares shipments including taking pictures, writing Bill of Lading/s (BOL) and other required documentation
  • Assists shipping carriers in tracking and shipment information
Education
  • High School diploma or GED
