Job Title

Shipping Clerk

Brief Description

Posts shipping information to the computer system, prepares shipping documents and mailing labels, and maintains records of all outgoing shipments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prints sales orders and packing lists and types bill of ladings.
  2. Verifies shipment information.
  3. Prints labels for UPS shipments and prepares/sends out UPS shipments.
  4. Maintains EWM or SAP dock screen for loaded/unloaded trailers.
  5. Answers telephone and provides information/assistance.
  6. Assigns invoice numbers to shipping documents.
  7. Produces load sheets for trailers.
  8. Establishes and maintains files.
  9. Inputs data into computer system.
  10. Ships orders per customer specifications.
  11. Monitors emails and calls in extra trailers when needed.
  12. Knowledge of RF Gun.
  13. Monitors EWM outbound reports to ensure schedule adherence.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Duties
  1. Prepares international shipping orders.
  2. Completes month-end invoicing.
  3. Handles paperwork for misdirected shipments.
Work Conditions & Demands

Light to medium lifting, standing or walking most of the day, willing to work 40 hours/week.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of office procedures, record keeping, and basic math.
  • Proficiency with computers and software including Microsoft Office, Sage, and CAT software.
  • Typing speed of 40 WPM and 10,000 keystrokes.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and maintain relationships.
  • Attention to detail and legibility.
  • Experience with office equipment.
Education & Experience

High School Diploma or GED, 1-year shipping/receiving or data entry experience, familiarization with shipping documentation and UPS system preferred.
