Job summary

LaForce is seeking a reliable Shipping & Receiving Technician to join the Detroit, MI team. You will handle inbound receiving, labeling, palletizing, and staging of door hardware and materials, ensuring accurate job fulfillment.

A forklift is preferred or willingness to be trained; expect drug screening and background checks as part of the process. Work hours are first shift, Monday through Friday, with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be dependable, organized, and able to jump in with minimal supervision.

• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/move frequently on shift.

Job description

LaForce is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Technician to join our Detroit, MI team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for receiving and checking in a variety of items, including hardware, doors, frames, and specialty products. You will also label and palletize door hardware for the correct job-ensuring our projects run smoothly and efficiently. What You'll Do

• Receive and check in a variety of items, including hardware, doors, frames, and specialty products.
• Label and separate hardware according to job-specific receiving sheets.
• Palletize, shrink wrap, and stage materials for upcoming jobs.
• Operate a forklift and handle shipping logistics, including UPS hardware processing.
• Re-key locks, cut and stamp keys.
• Manage returns, process pick lists and bill of ladings using our computer system.
• Coordinate the daily truck schedule and assist with occasional deliveries.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who is dependable, organized and willing to jump right in - ideally, with a high school diploma or GED, and some experience shipping or receiving products. You should feel comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds, standing and moving frequently throughout your shift, and experience operating a forklift (or willing to be trained). Additionally, we value a willingness to learn and adapt, including becoming proficient with LaForce software and computer systems to help streamline operations. You'll need to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check. A valid driver's license with an acceptable record is also required.
