Nucor Corporation (Warehouse Systems) in Houston, TX is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations and to coach a growing team. You will manage inventory cycles, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safe, efficient material handling.

The role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and adherence to policies while maintaining on-time shipping schedules. Experience in leadership within a rack/manufacturing setting is preferred and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a lead role.
• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.
• Oversee and direct shipping teammates and contractors in their day-to-day responsibilities.
• Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory.
• Assist with material handling functions, including but not limited to forklift operation.
• Daily review of shipping schedule and assigned work.
• Coach and train an effective and efficient shipping and receiving team.
• Monitor and maintain material handling equipment for safe operation.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 year of training and/or experience in a Lead role.
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend work instructions, safety rules, operating instructions, and processing instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of leadership experience
• Previous Rack Manufacturing and/or manufacturing experience
• Basic math skills to keep track of inventory.
• Bilingual - English and Spanish proficiency
• Previous shipping and receiving experience
