Nucor Corporation (Warehouse Systems) in Houston, TX is seeking a Shipping Lead to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations and to coach a growing team. You will manage inventory cycles, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safe, efficient material handling.

The role emphasizes safety, record-keeping, and adherence to policies while maintaining on-time shipping schedules. Experience in leadership within a rack/manufacturing setting is preferred and bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in a lead role.
Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and safety rules.

Responsibilities

Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.
Oversee and direct shipping teammates and contractors in their day-to-day responsibilities.
Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory.
Assist with material handling functions, including but not limited to forklift operation.
Daily review of shipping schedule and assigned work.
Coach and train an effective and efficient shipping and receiving team.
Monitor and maintain material handling equipment for safe operation.
Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
