Job summary

Nucor is hiring for a Lead Shipping role at our Houston-area facility. The position focuses on directing shipping teammates and contractors, ensuring safety, accuracy of inventory, and timely completion of shipping schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and comprehend work instructions, safety rules, operating instructions, and processing instructions.
• Lead role experience with at least 2 years of training or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facility.
• Oversee and direct shipping teammates and contractors in their day-to-day responsibilities.
• Assist in routine cycle counting of inventory.
• Assist with material handling functions, including but not limited to forklift operation.
• Daily review of shipping schedule and assigned work.
• Coach and train an effective and efficient shipping and receiving team.
• Monitor and maintain material handling equipment for safe operation.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Functions:

• 2 years of leadership experience
• Previous Rack Manufacturing and/or manufacturing experience
• Basic math skills to keep track of inventory.
• Bilingual – English and Spanish proficiency
• Previous shipping and receiving experience
