Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipping and Inventory Management professional for a temp-to-hire opportunity in San Leandro, CA. This role is ideal for a hands-on shipping leader with strong receiving, packaging, logistics, documentation, inventory control, and team supervision experience within a manufacturing environment.

The Shipping Supervisor will oversee daily shipping department operations, including incoming and outgoing shipments, order accuracy, packaging quality, carrier coordination, employee training, safety compliance, and workflow planning. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping, receiving, packaging, storing, and order fulfillment activities to ensure accurate and timely shipment processing.
• Prepare and coordinate FedEx, UPS, DHL, third-party carrier, and international shipments while ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and support shipping and receiving personnel to ensure department productivity, quality, and safety standards are met.
• Inspect packaged orders for quality, accuracy, internal process compliance, and shipping standard requirements before release.
• Maintain receiving and shipping records, verify orders against purchase orders, and report damages, discrepancies, or inventory concerns.
• Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles as required, while following all safety and facility policies.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $68,640 to $79,040 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Manage daily shipping, receiving, packaging, logistics, and inventory movement within a manufacturing environment.
• Lead shipping personnel, provide training, assign work, and monitor department performance.
• Coordinate domestic, third-party, and international shipments with accurate documentation.
• Maintain quality control, safety compliance, and timely order completion standards.
• Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience managing receiving, shipping, and shipping personnel.
• 6 to 10 years of relevant logistics, transportation, inventory, warehouse, or shipping operations experience preferred based on role level.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
• Strong knowledge of shipping processes, receiving procedures, packaging standards, inventory accuracy, and logistics documentation.
• Experience preparing shipments through FedEx, UPS, DHL, third-party carriers, and international shipping processes.
• Ability to supervise clerks and warehouse staff engaged in shipping, receiving, storing, and handling products and materials.
• Strong communication, organization, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Must be flexible with schedule changes and able to work extended hours when required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift operation experience required, including stand-up, sit-down rider, and hand pallet jack equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with no points required.
• Ability to operate or support use of Sprinter and box truck vehicles as needed.
• Commitment to quality, safety, attendance, teamwork, and professional conduct.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing shipping department.
• Experience leading process improvements, workflow planning, and team training in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
