Job summary

Fastenal is seeking an energetic, entry-level Shipping associate for our 1225 Mid Valley Dr, Jessup pa distribution center. You will label, inspect, and sort product, load shipments, and help maintain a safe, organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include using RF scanners and printers, securing loads, and adhering to health and safety practices. Must be 18+, with strong communication and teamwork; a flexible schedule may be offered after onboarding.

• Verify product is correctly labeled for easy identification and delivery.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
• Comply with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations.
• Participate in health, safety and sustainability training.

OVERVIEW:

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Full-time Shipping, you will help facilitate the movement of product throughout our distribution center. You will be responsible for organizing all outgoing orders, loading product into trucks by hand, pallet jack, or by forklift. This is an entry-level position based out of our distribution center located at 1225 Mid Valley Dr, Jessup, PA 18434. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

• 18 years of age or over, due to the nature of work
• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills

• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience operating a forklift
