Job summary

Fastenal Co. in Jessup, PA is hiring for Part-time Mini Load Picking at our PA100 Distribution Center. This entry-level role offers up to 28 hours per week with split shifts from 1:00pm–8:00pm or 5:00am–12:00pm.

You will pick, pack, label, and weigh products, verify inventory, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace while following health, safety, and sustainability rules.

Qualifications

Part-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 1:00pm - 8:00pm

MON TUE WED THU FRI 5:00am - 12:00pm

Up to 28 hours/week

OVERVIEW:

Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Part-time Mini Load Picking, you will help facilitate the movement of product from our distribution center to company owned branches. When an order is placed by a branch it is queued into the system to be picked. Product is brought on a conveyor belt directly to your work station, where you will pick the requested quantity, pack the order, print a label with a routing number and send the product to the next department, Sortation. This is an entry-level position based out of our distribution center located at 1225 Mid Valley Dr, Jessup, PA 18434. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Picking orders and packing product efficiently and accurately
• Operating computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label product
• Using a scale for weighing product
• Verifying inventory being picked matches request
• Verifying package quantities and counts
• Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work area
• Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
• Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
• Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficient written and oral communication skills
• Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
• Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
• Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
• Work independently as well as in a team environment
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed

• Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience operating a forklift
